Hi, I’m Jason. Welcome to my website and more specifically, my About page. I am a husband, a father of two, a soccer fanatic and of course, a web geek. I am passionate about web design and have been since the late 90′s.

My Website

This website is a combination of my freelance website, www.abneydesign.com, and my personal portfolio website, www.jasonabney.com. After years of working with small businesses and small budgets, I have decided that I can serve the community better by providing information to help the average internet user to setup a quality website for their business, club, organization or passion. Keyword there was quality! Yes anyone can get a website up and running however not just anyone can setup a website that is functional, user friendly, aesthetically pleasing and effective.

I have been working for years using major content management systems (CMS) and in my experience, these systems just don’t do the job. Yes they allow anyone to update content however, there is a disconnect between the CMS and the average user. A CMS needs to be user friendly, made for anyone to use, easy to learn and effective in helping you get your message to world. WordPress is all of those things and more.

I started using WordPress several years ago as a CMS and it has only gotten better and better with every upgrade. It couldn’t be the number one blogging system out there if it wasn’t easy to learn and user friendly. Oh and did I mention you can use it for free? So now my website, which is also run by WordPress, is my platform to help those who are not web developers but who are adventurous enough, to make your own website.
